« Les temps modernes » est le second CD de Ehma, il reprend des oeuvres au piano et quelques oeuvres plus orchestrée comme Pizzicato et La berceuse obscure. On y retrouve notamment la Berceuse de Julie écrite par Maryse Fontaine, arrangée par Ehma et surtout Assise sur un banc, titre précédemment paru sur Summer Hits des Bernardo à l'époque ou Ehma était un Bernardo.
« Les temps modernes » est un résumé de Ehma car reprend des travaux depuis 1999 jusqu'à 2003.
En réponse aux critiques :
Comme on ne rit jamais autant des défauts des autres si on en avait pas sois-même autant et qu'il est plus facile de voir la poussière dans l'oeil de son voisin plutôt que la poutre dans le sien.
Bien puisqu'on est jamais aussi bien servi que par soi-même, je me sers.
Chose drôle, c'est celui dont je me suis le plus appliqué et c'est le plus boudé, allez savoir....
Crèon et Antigone est le morceau ou je me suis le plus investi, c'était pour moi un véritable travail de recherche, dont j'étais assez satisfait du résultat.
La berceuse de Julie n'est pas de moi, mais de ma compagne, j'ai juste fait les arrangements, minima listes et simpliste il faut bien le dire, c'était le cadeaux pour la naissance de la fille d'un couple d'amis.
Assise sur un banc, même si elle n'est pas très juste était pour moi le reflet de la flânerie d'une journée ensoleillée ou assis sur un banc on observe le monde vivre.
J'étais plutôt satisfait du résultat, même si c'était plutôt court.
Je trouve toujours que c'est ce que j'ai fait de plus abouti
After downloading Ehma's Opus Solemnus and listening to the last song on the album more times than I can count, I decided to listen everything this artist has ever put on Jamendo.
I really tried to find words to describe how much I love this album but there are no words. The only thing that I can think to say is in William Shakespeare's words (from the play "Much Ado About Nothing"). In finding this album, "Silence is the perfectest herald of joy: I were but little happy, if I could say how much."

I have been using Jamendo for over three months and I just love the musical discoveries the platform offers. My latest is an album called "Les temps modernes" by a band called Ehma who are from Belgium. Now, the funny part is that I live in Belgium but was able to discover Ehma only through Jamendo; in fact that is also the power of the web and I think it disproves the assertions of many who believed technology isolates people. Anyway, enough about the greatness of the web: go listen to Ehma because it's really worth it. Enjoy!
To be short, Les Temps Modernes is a very well made album. Each track almost blends into each other, making each song last forever.
All the songs are very soothing, but far from dull! Pizzicato is lively, and fun.
Most of the songs have a Moonlight Sonnata feel to them.
I like this album quite a lot.
"Pizzicato" has a very nice texture and has some good moments, but I don't think the composition is very strong. It is very repititious - some more musical variety would help the song. The synth flute sound adds a lot, but I think it comes too late in the song and leaves too abruptly.
"Berceuse de Julie" is really a nice song. The vocalist has good tonal qualities in her voice. It is not a very professional performance, but I don't mind that much. The accompaniment is brilliant. The song is short enough that the repetition is not bothersome.
"L'attente" has a wonderful opening and closing melody. I don't really like the middle part of the song.
"Jours de pluie" is another great melody, but I like where this song goes. This is one of my favorites.
"Antigone et Créon" seems to be a very emotional song for the artist, judging by the performance. It is very effective - especially the chromatic descents near the beginning. I quite like this song.
"Assise sur un banc" is one of my favorites. The vocal performance is amateur, but that doesn't matter much. It adds to the simplicity and charm, I think.
Very calm and soothing. Great for a lazy Sunday morning.
