Miss Daisy Black's "Nevroses" drives a steady, angsty rhythm from start to finish. This album is definitely on the harder-edged grunge side of the "pop rock" and "alternative" spectra. Amidst the driving drum and electric guitars are little clearings made for acoustic guitar and piano. Most songs have classic rock structures and many start with classic rock intros by either the drum or lead guitar. The vocals are featured (i.e., they are in the foreground and clearly enunciated), suggesting an emphasis on lyrics--I wish I understood French well enough to grasp them. At times the voice and melody remind me a bit of Kurt Cobane; at other times (particularly during the humming chorus on "nervoses en prose") I hear Paul Westerberg, but these are minor comparisons. I particularly like "nervoses en prose," and "l'appel de la horde."

Music : nothing fancy, rather boring composition, does not provoke, does not induce any chill

Mixing : tends to be on the Lo-Fi side, optimize it more, give it more depth and breathing, it tends to be way too one-dimensional

Voice : to be changed. I think only French people sing that way, and I am sorry to say, it brings the whole thing down. Well, to be fair, the voice on "Le mur s'effondre" reminds a little of Trent Raznor (together with the drum beat and the overall feel of the song),. You must certainly be a fan on Nine inch Nails ;) But otherwise, you sorta belong to the same group Miro and other French singers belong to: flat voices sounding like teenagers experimenting alternative music for the 1st time. But it could be the result of the mixing ...

Anyway, to my mind, you have A LOT of work ahead if you want to exploit your ideas. But don't give up, "c'est en forgeant qu'on devient forgeron" as you French say :D
