Description

Sophomore Jinx is my first professional recording effort. This album is about second chances, hopes, dreams, and following my passion.

Solo piano albums run a few risks. The most common are to be boring and monotonous, and another is to strive so hard for a clever edge that the music itself gets lost. This album has neither of these problems.

The music is complex without being complicated, and edgy without being contrived. Track 4, "Bliss", is especially beautiful. The modulations and crackle in the sound make for something truely wonderful.

Surprisingly joyful! 'Summer Garden' evokes memories of running and laughing in springtime meadows, each note like a flower's caress against bare legs; the aptly-named 'Bliss' is as cool and refreshing as a summer rain; from the first notes, 'Forever' inspires visions of firelight and starry nights; 'Oceans' seems to ebb and flow like a midnight tide against soft skin...

The artist's talent is outweighed only by his passion for his music, a passion evident in every selection.

Beautifully done; highly recommended.

(*I do not relate to the album title's concept...it seems foreign to the delicately crafted and passionate music*)

If you like Kitsch - this's the right album for you.
Good for romantic scenes in soap operas. Somewhat mechanical though.

This album is absolutely great. The piano is soft and peaceful.
After listening to this album, I was.. refreshed, the sound is just awesome. It's a very good thing knowing that there are still some truly amazing artists out there. Good Job on this one!

Rob Costlow is a gifted artist. This is a lovely album, that is touching and inspirational.

In fact, with his permission, I will be using the following songs in various presentations I have created for parents and teachers.

"I Do", "Bliss" "Goodbyes" and "Forever" will add a tender yet powerful sound to my haunting images.

I encourage everyone to listen and purchase this wonderful compilation of music.

C'è poco da aggiungere. La musica di Rob Costlow si presta facilmente all'ascolto, e coinvolge emotivamente: l'esecuzione al piano è magistrale, e le melodie sono veramente ottime.

I am doing a school project where I have to desgn a whole theatrical production. Your album was one of my first suggested ones for my mock show. I love Rob's work, it is go emotional you can use one album to encompass everything from tragedy to romance.

He has true talent,

Ant.

Great album, great composition and execution. I'll play for ever!

Having listened to this album a few times through, I'm comfortable in saying that Rob Costlow is the new George Winston. The music is never boring, but seems to forgo technical prowess in favor of melody and ambiance. This music would be equally at home while walking, sleeping or working; it's also great for simply listening with your eyes closed.
