Great start, dark and light, good balance. Love the vocals for once fit in disturbingly well and love the electronic counterpoint. I like the vocals because the music overall does not depend on them. We are not confronted by a celebrity status but by a genuine creative artist and a generous one at that, amongst many other aspirants. Nice sounds for sure. Brilliant ending.
Then the voice is used as part of the rhythm section of the second track and blended consumately well with the percussion and synthesis overall. It develops into a good, reasonably, cantering pace. Dance or listen, there's enough for everyone, we just need to share it with some equality. Give credit where credit is due, in whatever form. All I have is praise, and hopefully constructive criticism and in doing so try and stick to my maxim. It's the least I can do, and it enervates me sometimes to vent my spleen. Though the music is not always the messenger, and even so, it's construction may create barriers. That's what attracts me to chiefly instrumental music. The more verbal, I generally find the more superficial. A picture speaks a thousand words, and the pictures of music on this site has created several thousand words just from me. All in all that's a lot, according to how many take part. It would be nice to see a bit more communal spirit, from the statistics I see it seems a lot take without even apparently saying thanks for the freebie. But that's part of the essence of creative art, there was a time that a creation because of its singularity in form, was treasured and remains (well most at least) in our archives all across the world. Nowadays it's everywhere and the value becomes unfortunately less, although the cost seems to generally work its way opposite. Where's there's mud there's gold and all that but this isn't any mud, this is class and I respect it better for being here than being crammed down my TV eye, which to be fair I don't give a lot of credence. I'm more audial and imaginative, than multi-media, I think it's an age thing. Nice remix, by the way!-)
The fourth track, with the big title has a lovely structure and rich tonality that resounds so beautifully around my head. Maybe it's not for all and thats why there is no celebrity status, but I don't think thats the answer to the question of CC philosophy. That seems to be more about creating a 'golden mean'. I'm trying to do what I can, but I tend to play catalyst to situations and that means things change. Perhaps, even a minimal subscription service, if finances become dire and we are entering such an economic phase, and resultingly also socio-economic. Let's make music economic, a commodity that may be traded to engender meaning, or things like hope, or politcal stance. Something meaningful, even if on a personal level and maybe that's the important bit. Healer, heal thyself.
The Audiobook is the only one I've been able to tolerate, that I've ever taken the time and patience to listen to. Amazing musical creation all over the place and I can't get enough. I'm addicted, help!-) But it's essentially about communication and in many diverse manners. There will always be celebrities, because that's the mainstream culture asserting itself as we are offered an array of strongly moderated choices from a local supermarket chain or other such capitalist organisation. You won't find this on those shelves and in some ways, I wouldn't want to. I'm a bit possessive and think it'll get spoilt, when it could be so much nicer. So, there you go, I'm not a bread-head, nor a musician so of course it will astound such a comparatively simple mind as mine own. The Novel I Never Wrote, uncannily coincidental.
The title track, has a lovely ring to it, something about it's confidence it seems to have along with skill to construct such sounds. Of course, it has to have the soundtrack, whether it appeals or not. Personally, I think it cheapens the potential of the track, although it is still effective. So, it's good and bad. Although it would be nice to give the tackiness of it a miss, if possible. Makes it cheap for me, whereas others might love it, or laugh their asses off.
