I came to this album after his other -structures - release and was very unsure if he could match the quality of that one.
To be truthful, this one doesn't. The three short pieces are interesting enough but nothing over original. Enjoyable but by no means a must have. I rate a 6 out of 10 for these.
Then we come to the title track and by far and away the most impressive of the album. Another excellent piece of longform music. In many ways, for a newbie to the genre, a far better introduction to the form than his later release due in part to the shorter, only 30+ mins, length. I'm no newbie but this is a full 10 out of 10 score and demonstrates, for me, where the real talents of the creator lie.
This guy can do the business, I just hope he keeps going and plays fully to his strengths.
