This Underground Collective was founded in 2000
by Boxcarjoe and Fordword

From Mendocino, California these two northern Californians have been exploring different genres of music and art since a young age.

The original Underground collective release was recorded in several different Mendocino county living rooms, garages and sheds, through out the early journey of their musical collaboration Lowell and Ford were combating the challenges of growing up in a small community with dwindling opportunities.

Lowell was able to make it out of Mendocino and take a journey to LA , to go to attend an audio engineering program at Sound Masters in Southern California. Upon finishing school he has joined up with several artists in the greater Los Angeles Area and provided his mastering services.

Founding Freeboxrecords.com Lowell G Brown has joined with Ford Norris and they are working on a full length professionally recorded album for distribution and as a sample of what Freeboxrecords can produce, from a production point of view.

Lowell and Ford have recruited an other Mendocino county resident. This recruit handles marketing and many different business-technical related aspects of freeboxrecords production. The goal for our business is to provide a way for independent artists like ourselves to enjoy the benefits of being with a record label and to provide top notch productions to our clients.
