The Art Punk Band consists of Dr. T, Tha Baron, and Rev. Paul. The band is unique in several ways: first they have no recognition of how the music industry really operates. They do not even consider their songs in terms of genre. Second, band members are from different generations, and their listening and playing interests range from traditional folk, blues and jazz to modern pop, classic and alternative rock, new wave, grunge, and alternative punk—and the rock explosion that began in the 1950s, and continued with the Beatles and the British invasion in the 1960s, spurring a renaissance of creativity with profound impacts on popular culture. Go read "Your Brain on Music" one of these days--most of you will appreciate this book.  

Ray Charles once said that there were only two types of music in this world—good music and bad music. Others might wonder how he could participate with so many musical styles, but he could “because the music was good”.  Ray was unique, and there will never be another RC.  But you and I are unique too, in our own ways.  You decide if "the music is good".

The Art Punk Band is an eclectic "originals" band with all three members writing, singing, and playing guitars, keyboards, drums, and other instruments.  The Art Punk Band is organized around principles and values of progressive cooperative enterprises--each participating member retains full rights to individual creative contributions, and shares equally in joint creative contributions. They avoid making arrangements involving legal contracts or formal commitments for creating, playing, or recording music. They play music together when the time is right--and when it sounds good— record it. I hope that you  find the music of the Art Punk Band is good.

The current line-up of Art Punk Band recorded a series of albums on the Zoom machine between 2005 and 2008 that are being made available for digital distribution.  The Creative Commons and sharing of music in the digital age seems like an essential idea for the times.
