Strix is the Latin for 'owl', which is the original name of the band, but in Latvian ("Puce"). As this sounds misguiding in English we chose a Latin word for our international name.

We are a bunch of over-forties men, supported by a couple of girls half our age. (They could easily be our daughters. Pity they are not...) Not all of us have been around since the very beginnings of the band, that is since 20 years ago. But we are together now. Having some fun playing our music, though it takes some both effort and investment.

StrixRex is the artist name of Aldis Putelis (there is no connection between the surname and the name of the band). My duties within the bulk are rather simple: planning of events, managing the rehearsals and concerts, carrying the instruments and equipment, driving, rigging up the stage,... do some singing and mouth-harp playing, then the first few in the reverse order. I compose music and write lyrics. Sometimes record and mix. Sometimes do graphics.
