Rieg

Between electronic noise and ambient lo-fi, folk, trip-hop and funk lies the experimental indiepop single released by Rieg. This debut cd was recorded by Rieg and mixed at Studio 24 in João Pessoa (Brazil) and mastered by Pete Norman in England.

In early 2010 the band entered the studio to write and later record in October 2010, shortly before playing their debut concert in November at the Mundo Festival 2010 in João Pessoa, Brazil. The CD single was released in January 2011 at the Casa de Cultura Cia in the Historic Center of João Pessoa, obtaining public visibility and the vast interest of the local press, besides having the song "The Histrionic" played on WHUS FM in Connecticut (USA).

Past experiences and different backgrounds of the musicians of the band intensify the complexity of the sound marked by experimentation and simplicity in their pop songs with lyrics written in English and German, work of the American/German vocalist Rieg Rodig. The single Postmodern Funktron, followed by trip-pop Histrionic and the poppiest track The Runaway, demonstrate the eagerness of the band to seek new opportunities through scratching on the guitar strings, the sound of the organ, synthesizers, bass, drums and acoustic instruments. Por entre ruídos eletrônicos e ambiente lo-fi, folk, trip-hop e funk encontram o indie experimental no primeiro disco single lançado por Rieg gravado e mixado no Studio 24h em João Pessoa e masterizado por Pete Norman do Finyl Tweek na Inglaterra.  

No início de 2010, o grupo entrou em estúdio para compor e após terminar as gravações em outubro a banda fez o seu show de estreia em novembro no Festival Mundo 2010 e o lançamento do disco em janeiro na Casa de Cultura Cia. Da Terra no Centro Histórico de João Pessoa, obtendo uma ótima repercussão do público e visibilidade da imprensa local. Além de ter a canção The Histrionic tocada na rádio WHUS FM de Connecticut (EUA).

A experiência e os diferentes backgrounds dos músicos que formam a banda intensificam a complexidade do som marcado pelo experimentalismo e a simplicidade pop de suas canções com letras compostas na língua inglesa e alemã, trabalho do vocalista norte-americano alemão Rieg Rodig.  O single Postmodernfunktron, seguido pelo trip-hop The Histrionic e o pop Runaway, demonstram a vontade do grupo em buscar novas possibilidades passando pelos scratchs nas cordas da guitarra, ao som do órgão, sintetizadores, baixo, bateria e instrumentos acústicos.  Enjoy.
