propylaion - indie pop & indie funk aus hamburg.
"propylaion" ist griechisch und bezeichnet den torbau, der in ein heiligtum führt.
1995 gaben sich vier musiker diesen namen um neue musik zu erschaffen,
ohne die ewig gleichen englischen oder amerikanischen idole zu zitieren.

propylaion erfinden die musik nicht neu
  - ihre songs erinnern an die frühen u2, die red hot chilli peppers der letzten jahre,
gepaart mit elektronik, viel eigenständigkeit und ungehörtem.
ihre musik wird im internet und radio gespielt,
in blogs und zeitschriften rezensiert und gelobt,
international mit erfolg verkauft
- und seit 2009 von hamburg aus auch endlich wieder live gespielt.

"propylaion" is the greek word for a monumental gateway leading towards a sanctuary.
in 1995 four musicians started to create new music under this name
without just copying the sound of english or american idols.

propylaion is not reinventing music
  - their songs may remind you of the early u2, the red hot chilli peppers of the last years,
paired with electronics, individuality and a lot of things you`ve never heard before.
their music is being played on the internet and fm radio,
they are reviewed in blogs and magazines,
sold internationally
- and now they play their songs live again.
