It would have been to expect that, something very elaborate or intricate, would present difficulties to someone that, just like me, relies only on a good musical ear, a passionate heart and an open minded soul to appreciate music. Since no particular musical knowledges assist me, human emotions are my best starting point for any appreciation attempt, as I also know that inevitably, they are also in the basis of any musical endeavor, the more objective it may pretend to be initially. This album, has been intriguing and defying me since it was released. Intriguing, as much as satisfactory, I must say and defying, because it's indeed a marvelous work and undoubtedly deserves a comment. My initial impression was somehow related to some sort of simplicity, but, successive hearings, kept on suggesting it wasn't that. Yesterday evening, the weather was heavy and some thunders were constantly taking down the energy, so I decided to grab my portable player, put my headphones on and listen to music. It happened that this album was next on the line and... instead of a lightning, I was struck by a light. PURITY!... "That's it", I thought. Purity, is by definition, a state of absence of any sort of impurity, of superfluous and unnecessary items, if we project that notion, to some more palpable things. Undoubtedly beautiful and extremely pleasant, this album has that inherency. On purpose or not, it's a clear and fat free production And that's exactly, what makes of it so attractive to the ear in a first instance... and stimulates the desire of going further in the pursuit of satisfaction. Just like happens, within some of the intricacies of love.
