Très grande qualité musicale, atmosphère sombre et belle, le ton est donné tant par la musique que par le chant,bien sûr, on pense à Nick Cave ... Le côté instrumental est tout à fait excellent, subtil,les montées mélodiques sont un régal, impossible d'arrêter l'histoire. Tout appelle à une rêverie..souvenirs, impression de déjà vu...(Le dernier morceau s'élève avec magnificence) Merci à ce groupe et merci à Brigandin pour cette belle et émouvante découverte. C'est en m'intéressant à la redoutable compil "Behold My Puny Bears, Vol. I" que je découvre avec bonheur cet excellent album de "Nous contre la mort"! Il me rappelle un peu l'école belge de Girl in Hawai ou Mud Flow avec des relents de post rock. Les compos sont chacune terriblement bien travaillés, ainsi que l'album qui coule tout seul sans que l'on décroche. Ne vous fiez pas aux durées affichés des morceaux, le plaisir est bien plus long et c'est pas pour me déplaire!

An excellent guitarist and a good steady drummer are heard on this album, and vocals that captivate and hold you onto, his every word, he sings. Instrumental, rock, indie band, that has style, grace and talent. An well worth a check out, or even a download after you have checked all these tracks out. Interesting, atmosphere and quality listening material.

Personal style and their music comes straight from the soul - definitely worth listening!

Actually I was on my way to give up on this. Not that it's bad work in any way. It just not sounded to me fresh or original. Then came Hands and I decided to sit and listen more carefully. I like good singing with interesant voice and I think here we have it. But quality of We vs. Death is in very mighty Guitar sound with very (brass?) powerful arrangements and instrument combinations. Recorded with professional, mathematically clear but still natural quality this is one hell of the album on it's best spots. On it's worst spots which are luckily not many here it is still well produced and pro album but without that extra which shoul lift it above genres average.

Un bon groupe de post-rock qu'on pourrait apparenter à Mogwai, mais qui a su développer une personnalité complexe, faites de mélodies simultanément lumineuses et mélancoliques, rythmées par une batterie sans cesse au bord de la rupture qui m'évoque les premiers albums de Giant Sand (Valley of Rain). Une trompette vient parfois s'immiscer parmi les guitares, distillant un peu de rondeur dans cette musique tout en arêtes saillantes, tandis qu'à d'autres moment (Collections of Stones), s'installe une atmosphère de désolation sombre et planante proche de Labradford. Je regrette néanmoins que la tendance dominante soit à la contemplation, un peu plus de rage leur conviendrai bien. [merci à Brigandin et Momoka pour la reco]
