Bien plus que du tango, la musique de Gaby Cardoso emmène loin l'auditeur, presque sans qu'il s'en rende compte. Rapidement, notre homme installe une sorte de connivence avec l'auditeur, sans gros effets ni cassures, et en se fondant sur des bases somme toutes très classiques (blues, rock, tango, etc.) Ce sont des petits clins d'oeil amusants (sons de cuivres, nappes de mellotron bienvenues, choix de plusieurs langues (ah ! "Un salon d'amour" et "Le pêcheur" avec ce délicieux accent argentin du bonhomme !) qui créent cette complicité tout au long de l'album. A l'image de la scène "rock" argentine, avec des artistes inventifs peu connus par chez nous (Alejandro Matos, Nancy Endrizzi - qui ne sont pas présents sur Jamendo mais peu importe, faites un tour sur leur Myspace à l'occasion), Gaby Cardoso propose une musique à cheval (ah, ah) sur plusieurs traditions : celle, purement argentine, du tango et des percussions latinos (le morceau d'ouverture, sorte de "trip-hop tango" aussi excellent, dans un style différent, que les premiers Gotan Project), et celle, européenne, du blues/rock asséné à grand renfort de guitares. Un métissage à l'image du pays, en quelque sorte. Et même si je ne suis pas un fan absolu du son des guitares sur cet album, et même si la voix de Gaby s'emballe un peu par moments, ces faiblesses font partie du charme de l'album, et après quelques écoutes, vous vous surprendrez peut-être, comme moi, à fredonner "Win & Loose" ou le rock endiablé de "Ya no se". Très original, et attachant ! Excellente musica !!!

i must wait 4 days to download & listen to this album because my internet connection problem. but what i ve got after waiting VERY GREAT. still like a previous album, gaby'm music always had a great quality! i still found a variety of instrument melody here! and all is matching so great! all song is great, but most is song "win & lose", its really have a great meaning, both on lyric and instrument melody! its support each other to create a nice song! its type of music that we can listen when relaxing time like a after working or drinking coffee on morning! thanks for great music always!

A successful mix between north and south american music(tango,blues,pop,folk...and beyond)achieved in a personal way,with this beautiful and gentle voice. Gaby Cardoso, sets a high standard by making you feel relaxed, refreshed, and done so by a wow of an album. What a fantastic, wonderful, interesting, beautiful time, I have just had, check this album out, love it. The music, the styles, the voice. Bravo. And thanks for sharing your talent.

I love Gaby's music, and his voice is so great. He wrote me and told me on this album is two songs in English. So I find that Win & Loose is such a beautiful song. Wirarama is right, it has so much meaning, is a very emotional song. But I enjoy all the songs regardless most all are in Spanish. Somehow the way Gaby sings them, gives the gist, the meaning. It is one thing to write great music, but quite another to write great music AND great lyrics! Keep the music coming Gaby!

Cocktail réussi, prenant, sensuel et si subtil dans ses "promenades" de guitare. Moi qui adore le tango, là je suis enchantée par sa finesse, les accords au piano en disent tant, le tout sur tempo lascif. Le côté folk ne me gène pas, il s'enchaine fort bien grace à la voix du chanteur. Oui, je voudrais bien danser sur cet album! Merci à Oscar Fantoche pour sa recommandation.

Very relaxing tune. The voice is incredibly sensual and guitars are well arranged. Lyrics are good too. Bravo! I wanted to go bed but when the player automatically turned to track two, three, then track four, then the sixth ... so I listened (and downloaded) the full album! It interested me song by song, the genre is popular music well sang in spanish and english. I personally prefer the "less-rock" tunes, but the guitar distorted one's are good too. Lyrics are very poetic, really good stuff froma Argentina!

buena fusion de estilos, buenas letras, eckhardt

por fin pude hacerme del tiempo necesario para escuchar seriamente este álbum. sinceramente me gusta más que "fluvio" (y ese disco me gusta). "fue, es, será" debe ser de los mejores inicios de disco que conozco, no podrías haber elegido otra más apropiada. Luego, ya veo que te gusta dejar canciones medio folk o country para el segundo lugar :P... también me gusta ésa. "tu fantasma" y "le pecheur" son excelentes; "fuego negro" es muy buena para levantar en el momento justo del disco; "para no pensar" y "a la larga" son probablemente las que más me gustan; las siguientes también son buenas, si bien me gustan menos. Variedad, originalidad y, sobre todo -y quiero hacer énfasis en este punto- excelentes letras. Repito algo que dije sobre "Fluvio"... por momentos suena desafinado, pero no lo digo como algo malo (puede que hasta sea buscado), ya que le da al disco un estilo aun más personal. Me gustaría, para terminar, hacer un par de aclaraciones: primero, puede que sea necesario escuchar este disco más de una vez para agarrarle el gusto (confieso que la primera vez que lo oí no me gustó demasiado) y, segundo, puede que, si bien no necesario, sea deseable entender español... si alguien juzga ciertos discos sin entender las letras de sus canciones necesariamente juzga a medias... y creo que éste es uno de esos casos. saludos
