Post Punk meets Post Rock highlighting the field between Shoegaze and Show – the swedes LIGHT IN YOUR LIFE produce psychodelic pop pearls like bands such as EDITORS, ELEFANT und ESKOBAR and their debut is just as good.

They already raised attention a year ago releasing an EP under the name of SLEAZY ROMANCE. In Sweden insiders celebrated this band as swedens answer to INTERPOL: the five guys from Uppsala manage the balancing act between melancholy and ease at least as impressive as the famous New Yorkers.

From the deep wave-roots of LIGHT IN YOUR LIFE grows a strong stock of solid rock, entwined by psychodelic leaves. The treetop grows far beyond the dark wave spinney and gets enough sun to blossom into a bright pop sensation.

LIGHT IN YOUR LIFEs songs are drawn to the sun ("It would be fine") or lurk in the dark ("Psych"). In the style of classicas singer-songwriters frontman Johann tells great stories of great emotions ("Song about love") which his band captures with hypnotic riffs and dominant drums.

The debut of this aspiring new scandinavian songplant is released on the 19th of june on cd on Danse Macabre and as a worldwide Net-Release on afmusic. The pre-release single includes the hits "Smile that smile" and "Geldof". These are already downloadable on the label´s homepage: www.af-music.de, where you can also listen to the bands 2008 EP released under the name of SLEAZY ROMANCE

Que d'épreuves à traverser pour aller vers la lumière...Il y a la nostalgie, la souffrance, et l'amour.... Je n'en dirai pas plus, le chanteur et la musique le disent tellement mieux que moi.

That’s the nice record, one that sticks with you from the first chords to the end of the album. The content is basically, a guitar-based, new/dark wave melancholic songs. It reminds me of an early Radiohead (the intro in It Would Be Fine for that instance), Editors (just listen to the vocalist style in Smile That Smile), the Smiths (their hypnotic mode - Christian), Interpol (the riff in Psych) or even Arcade Fire (an extremely catchy and in the same way obscure and melancholic guitar work in Emily Scott). Ok... Even with the comparison, because in a way it is degrading for the band. I think that Light In Your Life has its own style, and it seems that if they play their cards right and put a bit of diversity into their arrangement, there is definitely future ahead of them. As for now, I give 8 out of 10, because the cover is a bit amaterish. Stay cool, gz.

Melancolic alternative rock from sweden with typical sound. Like the sad side from Eskobar and the slow side from the Editors. Very nice and well played. The mix could be a bit better bit the feeling of the songs is more important then anything else. And the feeling is fabulous. -- Melancolischer Alternative Rock aus schweden mit dem typischen skandinavischen Sound. Die traurige Seite von Eskobar mit der langsamen Seite der Editors vereint. Sehr beeindruckend und gut gespielt. Ja, der Mix/Mastering könnte besser sein, aber wichtiger ist das Feeling der Songs und das ist großartig.

Ordentlich melancholisch aber eigentlich auch ziemlich gut. Nur bei der Abmischung müsste noch etwas Feinarbeit geleistet werden, teils geht der Gesang hinter den Instrumenten doch etwas unter...
