It all began with a dream. You know that idle kind of day dreaming, or the way we dream about things we want to be. Sometimes those dreams die. But sometimes, they take on a breath of their own, and keep growing. This is such a dream.
Have you ever just went out and searched for treasure? Perhaps not, but if you’ve ever approached the world with an open mind, you probably found some in unexpected places. Today, the world is ready for Treasure Chest more than ever, for this album is about the real treasures in life, which are the treasures of our hearts. Now, with the whole country going bankrupt due to their philosophy of buy buy and borrow, to pay for material things, the time has come for people to see that is not the way. As Lao Tsu said, millennia ago, “The sage wears rough clothes but keeps the jewel in the heart.”
This album begins,
“It’s not what you take,
it’s what you give.
It’s not what you make,
but how you live.
Always remember
there are far better things
and it’s the poor
who have the hearts of kings.”
This album is made in the spirit of those who were brave enough to explore new realms, to get off the beaten path and just bushwhack through the forest, up mountains, or wherever the road will take you. Some had an insatiable thirst for gold. Others, for the sheer thrill of discovery. And others went simply to follow their hearts.
It’s not true that there’s nothing left to explore. Has everything been found, every path trodden, every corner of the world unearthed? No, in fact, so many mysteries yet remain, and they startle us at every bend. Treasure Chest is an adventure in the world, and also through your own heart. Come along with NYLOC REX, as we look to find the most hidden mysteries, to make the crooked straight, and follow the most twisted paths.
Musically, NYLOC REX began as Mozart, watching his sister play piano. He later grew into a pianist, composer, lyricist, wanderer, writer, philosopher, and too many things to name. But words do no justice to who a man really is.
The currents of life sweep us along, and NYLOC REX is being swept away again, to where, who can know, and to what delights, none can say. For life can be so many things, and the possibilities only dazzle our eyes, and make them swirl like little galaxies, each containing worlds within worlds.
