The first time I listened to the songs, I was totally dazzled by the density of the songs; the music is composed like a collage of many little sound-fragments from classical music and distorted guitars to hiphop drum-samples and different noises. what makes the music interesting is that it constantly changes, there are hardly any repetitive parts, it's just an organic flow. From that viewpoint, it somehow reminded me of impressionalist compositions like Debussy and ultimatively, it sounds like a score for an old b/w movie. I prefer both "the alleys of newtopia" and "yellow". The former is probably most representative one of their style on the album. And in the meantime it is quite haunting because of the morbid string- and guitar-sounds. The latter is the most upbeat one of the tracks and shows just how straight to the point the beats are arranged while the track is accompanied by a lot of turntablism, weird synths and finally by rap. I am truly amazed!

J'avoue qu'avant de faire ma critique, j'ai mis du temps car je ne savais comment la faire. J'ai, pour une fois, lu les autres critiques pour voir ce qu'il se pensé. Car moi, je n'ai pas du tout accroché. Ce style décousu me déplait. Par contre, il faut dire que le son y est très bon, que le mix est d'enfer. Ma note correspond à la qualité du travail. Car ma note, en terme de goût est moins flateuse, il en faut pour tout le monde, elle et de 5. A+

Your songs are the most interesting piece of work I have come across for a long time. I really appreciate the accuracy and diversity of the way the songs are created. And I was impressed by the variety of -well- 'instruments'. I also like the many different little details which make your songs almost unbearably complex. Your songs do not get boring if you listen to them ten times in a row, but you finally are able to distinguish all the details. And every time you will find another detail that will attract your attention. If I had to compare your music with the work of other artists, Amon Tobin would come to my mind. Especially his new album. And some of your melodies remind me of Massive Attack. The song which I probably like most is 'yellow', closely followed by 'deathless princess'. I think that 'yellow' is the most elaborate song of your album. And as far as 'deathless princess' is concerned; I just really like the melody and the way in which the song is set up. I take a bow.

Only on the second song so far but I am VERY VERY VERY impressed. There's a lot going on all at once, so it is hard to get bored. There's always something more to get lost in. Very well produced and original and unique? Looking forward to the rest of the album. :)

die musik führt mit fragiler schönheit und brutaler vielfalt zu einem ort an dem autchre zu dvořák tanzen. der aufbau der einzelnen stücke fodert vom hörer konzetration. kaum ein takt gleicht dem anderen. die strukturen sind vielschichtig und die geniale konzeption lässt sich oft erst am ende der stücke erkennen. anhören anhören anhören, vielleicht versteht man dann die arbeit und komplexität, die dahinter steckt. der einzige schwachpunkt ist meiner meinung nach 'snow', da es weniger anspruchsvoll, aber dafür hörerfreundlicher ist. ;) kurzes aufatmen vor 'what did you think?'. yeah, what did you actually think when you made that shit?!? die texte sind etwas kryptisch, aber trotzdem emotional. maybe they'll guide you deep into the allies of newtopia..... mein absoluter favorit ist 'ode to the papertiger'. ich mag die melodie. hat etwas melancholisch majestätisches. mehr davon mehr davon mehr davon.

tres bon album meme si on aurait aimé que sa dure un peu plus longtemps, l'ambiance générale, sombre te mélodique est tout simplement magnifique, les rythmiques sont bien breaké, la qualité globale est tres belle. bon album !!!

Well it's "promo" in the name so I won't be sweet ;) - This is overmixed. That guys do not know where they "belong to" and so you can not truthfully listen to the album. It's a pitty because from time to time you hear things between all that trashed audio-noise that sounds promising in many ways. Anyway in times even crazy kids can handle a mixer this does not convince me of that karhu will evolve. But I'm not stupid, let's see what is following. Maybe they will find their path through the sorrowfull depth of electronic music. I already lost a friend there deep down under all the bytes....

Beim zuhören dieser musik wusste ich nicht in welche kategorie ich sie stecken sollte (weiss ich bis jetzt immer noch nicht) ;-) Aber egal,es klingt einfach nur saumässig gut! Erfrischend neue ideen sind hier zu hören! Mein tip: "Wer auf die musik von "Massive Attack" abfährt,der sollte sich dieses Album mal unbedingt anhören!" Riesig!!! The Abogix (J.K.)

L'ho ascoltato più di una volta e devo dire che mi ha fatto sempre un effetto diverso... ottimo lavoro... ricerche particolari di suoni, effetti e ritmiche, per certi versi mi ha ricordato Clifford Gilberto o ancora Amon Tobin, senza nulla togliere al vostro personale stile!!!!
