The album is named after E.T.A. Hoffmann’s book of stories ‘Nachtstücke’ and is deeply connected with the German romanticist period of the early 19th century. The first track, ‘Grund zum Schlummer’ is an acousmatic interpretation of Goethe’s ‘Erlkönig’, the second, ‘Traumes Wirren’, delves into the musical universe of Robert Schumann, and the last track ‘Samhain’ is based on a melodic mantra found in a nocturnal ritual in the forrest of Bebenhausen.
