J'ai décidé arbitrairement et unilatéralement de me pencher sur cet album précis, allez savoir pourquoi, pour découvrir ton oeuvre....c'est donc plutôt un concept album, ma foi bien réussi, parce qu'il est varié, et qu'il sait diffuser diverses ambiances. J'ai vu ce que tu citais comme sources et influences dans les styles de ce que tu écoutes et ce que tu recherches à faire, cela va peut être te surprendre, mais j'ai trouvé pas mal de Mike Oldfield dans tes mélodiques et les instruments choisis, en tout cas dans leurs mélanges. J'ai cru aussi reconnaitre les sons de l'excellent ReFx Nexus dans les claviers, une référence en la matière :) Bref, un très bon édifice qui est à la fois abouti et personnel !! Amicalement, Dom ;)

...Coup de cœur pour cet album, tout ce que j'aime. Je suis embarquée dans un univers d'aventure et de voyages (il y a un petit côté mystique non?) Les arrangements avec les chœurs me plait énormément. J'ai moins aimé (Atlantik), par contre j'ai adoré L'ange Maudit part 1,2,3(question de goût). Merci pour ton généreux partage

OK - I was playing this album in my classroom and one of our new teachers walked in and fell in love with the music and is now a fan of Jamendo. Enough said!?! Well maybe not: The album is loaded with funky, jazzy, ambient, "easy to listen to" music. It is all appealing and yet each tune is unique. I have been enjoying it all afternoon and the children have not complained . . .definitely a must listen.

Je ressens cet album comme étant plus personnel que le 1er...tu as décidé d'y mettre beaucoup de ta personnalité, c'est ce qui en fait un bel album. Un gros travail sur les mélodies et l'harmonie et vraiment un désir d'atteindre un niveau élevé tant en technique qu'en émotions ! Bravo et merci !! (et surtout...continue !)

A delicate mermaid choir, electric guitars, synth and an ostinato drum groove echoing the rhythm in Ravel's Bolero: the eponymous opening track of Urzhia-Kan's second album, Atlantik, promises an engaging and adventurous musical experience. In the first (L'ange maudit) of the two multipart tracks that follow, another beautiful choral melody introduces a solemn elegy in three movements, dominated by powerful piano and guitars, epic strings, percussions and drums, with occasional vibes adding a touch of wistful sweetness. The chorus returns in the last part of L'ange maudit, where keys and percussions weave an interesting and elaborate backdrop, interlaced with a synth and guitar pattern that recurs in variations throughout all installments of the composition. The second multipart track, In Search of the Ultimate Arpeggio, sets off on a vibrant melodic line, following a kind of circular progression towards a final movement that brings together elements from the two previous ones and concludes on a lighter, almost self-mocking note - maybe suggesting that the "ultimate arpeggio", a metaphor for every artist's aspiration to the absolute perfection of form, is in fact unattainable (since a restless creative mind is never satisfied with what it has achieved, and will continue striving for more). Once again, a choir (this time punctuated with somewhat ominous sounding bells or mallets) opens the ending track, Profondeur en surface, which goes on to unfold into a laid back, gorgeous melody that seems to revisit both the Ultimate Arpeggio theme and the imposing atmosphere of L'ange maudit, in a subtle play of mirroring symmetry. Complemented by a clever album cover which brings to mind a crop circle field, Atlantik is one of those cases where form and content are inseparable from each other - a stylish, researched and accomplished work with a definite personal "signature".

So much delicate, dedicated and talented care was taken in this little album of calming, yet glowing music . . music that glows with an inner fire . . . and gives legs to the journey . .. a little happiness and a lot of warmth . . and again a thank you to Urshia-Kan for sharing his wonderful compositions . . .
