byron's debut album, Forbidden Drama was released in autumn 2007. It showcases an eclectic mix of art-rock and alternative music, with progressive and classical hints. The songs are structured as a theatre play, with three acts and an epilogue; the lyrics revolve around modern man's condition and fighting the social alienation of the contemporary world.

Most of the songs were to be re-arranged for a fully unplugged performance featured on the live DVD Acoustic Drama, released a year later.

Oh baby... love the mood, the feelings and the atmosphere, in this top class, progressive, rock album. With dynamite, compelling, strong bewitching, vocals and lyrics that tell interesting, thought provoking, beautiful, stories. And music, that whirls and dances around inside my minds eye. As each and every track plays and then a new one starts. I'm think more.... Rock, art that is expressed beautifully and done to a very high standard. Exceptional satisfaction is guaranteed on this beauty. This is poetry in motion. The music is awesome, striking and amazing.

I've listened to this album, over, and over again. I think it starts off, OK, but the deeper tracks are what I really like about it. After getting into the album as a whole, the beginning is put into context, and becomes more enjoyable. Well worth listening to, but worth even more, on multiple listens. Great work.

This could well be a classic! I would rate this as a 10/10 because this is an amazingly consistent album of diverse elements that are fused together into an identity all of their own. Can it be consistent with one 'poor' track? Yes it can... some of my treasured CDs (remember those?) have two duff tracks on. Anyway, what is this byron thing like? Well, first off the songs are the focus: they're well-written and well-crafted. Not over-produced but just enough of all the right elements. I hear touches of Yes (without the pretentiousness), for example in some harmony vocals that definitely do NOT sound like folk music and great guitar lines without trying to prove virtuousity at the expense of the band. Another strange influence seemed to be Japan. Again, without being any second-rate copy band or copy musicians the bass is very inventive whilst being cool, rhythmic and just a touch off-beat rather than predictably rock. It just keeps coming back to the what makes a great band: first must be the quality of the songwriting, second the vocalist must be interesting, and then the individual band members must enhance the feel and interest in a way that one person (eg a Mike Oldfield) NEVER can. Oh! One last thing I remember was a hint of Led Zep's "Houses of the Holy". Now wasn't that a classy album that broke the mold (pun intended)? As soon as I can afford it I'm going to buy this. Let's all start putting our money where our mouths are...

What a great mix of songs you've got on this album. I really enjoyed going through each one. It's so nicely put together and your voice is terrific. Really awesome guys. "The Dawn Of A Drunk Bum" was very cool.
