Originally written in 2006 and recorded in 2007, 'Urban Fox' was created as a beat-led psychedlic prog-rock epic around the time of the tracks on 'An Introduction To Fishing'.  Due to a request, this piece has now been given it's own release on Jamendo, as a stand-alone single/EP.

For ease of listening, the piece has been broken down into 3 sections:

Part I (Prelude):  The instrumental introduction featuring guitars and bass is designed to set the mood before the main themes.

Parts II & III: The main themes for 'Urban Fox' are contained within these sections.  This features a variety of time-signatures, keys, structures and styles varying between pschydelic-folk to prog-metal.

Part IV (Coda): A heavy 7/4 riff sets the pace for the closing section before the themes from the Prelude are revisited to close.

'Urban Fox(EP)', is a three track, Electric Guitar, Rock album. Electric Guitar is played like Classical Violin in this Trio. The Notes are Strummed with Precision and Clarity from the Instrument. Track #1. 'Urban Fox(Part 1-Prelude)', Features a Solo- Voice of Steel Strings that Articulates each note like a Human Voice. When the Harmony arrives in the Form of Lower-Pitched "Growling", Sustained Notes--the Sound is Not Only Rock but has a Regal Feel too. Track #3. Urban Fox(Part IV),' Continues in the same vein but has a faster and less Dramatic Urgency yet the "Classical" Soul is heard in the Haunting Melody that flows through all three tracks. Track #2. 'Urban Fox(Part II & III)', Introduces Full Vocals. A Male Singer sings in a Soft, Soulful Tone with against a slightly Subdued Guitar Accompaniment and for a Rock Song is fairly long running just shy of 9 minutes. This track is the Most "Purely" Rock in the collection. In my opinion this is NOT "Classic Rock. It is Progressive-Modern Rock with a Classical Underpinning and Technique that makes it that much better.

Very good piece of work, reminds me of Porcupine Tree. (Maybe there are closer references to your work but I don't have an extended knowledge of this genre). The only thing that bothers me though : I think the guitar sound is way too dirty even for the heavier parts of the track. It just doesn't fit, in my opinion. Still, well played.

This EP flat out ROCKS ! This reminds me of some of the oldschool rock jam sessions from the late 60's and early to mid 70's . More specifically I am reminded of King Crimson I love the effects used here . It has that feel for absolute raw power. If you have ever listened to the song Jimmy's Jag by William Orbit from his LP "No Speak" then you know what I mean . Sometimes I just want to CRANK some music up and let the neighbors know I MEAN BUSINESS ! This EP will work wonderfully for doing just that : ) My only gripe ,complaint or bitch would be the short length rather than a full LP . I HIGHLY recommend this to anyone that loves a good jam session , or with ears ! Keep up the good work
