This is a techno tribute to the Saturn Moon, Rhea. It is part of a continuing series, where an EP or LP is dedicated to one of it's Moons. It takes shape of the moon, in it's feel, look, size and distance. Rhea is a very icy, far-out moon, yet it has a rocky center. So although the entire EP is sprinkled with icy synth lines and sweeping ambience, in it's core, it's a dance album, with grooves that'll make you dance in your chair.
There are three parts to Rhea, simulating three parts of the experiance (approaching the atmosphere, landing and exploring).

Perhaps that i don't know myself there in electronic style of music, but i don't really see the 'techno' side. It doesn't matter, this electro-ambient progressive music succeeds in captivating me, i like a lot the way in which the rhythms are posed, the tempo accelerated minimally. “Entering the Atmosphère” points out the universe of Klaus Schulze to me.

The music is good.
The description and track titles throw me a little though, because Rhea is a cratered ball of ice in hard vacuum. It has no atmosphere.

Jon Wayne hat mit der „rhea ep“ einen Release veröffentlicht, der mal wieder beweist, wie eng die Musikrichtungen Industrial und Techno zusammen liegen. Er selber hat es als Progressive Techno bezeichnet und dies ist eigentlich eine Beschreibung die man erst einmal so stehen lassen kann. Ich selber würde dies aber noch erweitern und das Ganze als Experimentellen Ambientlastigen Industrial / Techno betiteln. Der Techno-Einfluss zieht sich wie ein roter Faden durch die Songs, jedoch nicht als schneller hämmernder Beat, wie man es bei der originalen Beschreibung vermuten könnte, sondern als düsterer, schwerer Beat, der sich schwerfällig durch die Songstrukturen walzt. Dazu kommen atmosphärische Klangbilder, die passend zum Titel der EP relativ spacig daher kommen und somit fast einen Ambient-ChillOut Faktor als Schwerpunkt in die Songs einfließen lassen. Ich würde mal sagen, zwar keine leichte Kost, aber unter den experimentellen Vertretern elektronischer Klänge ein durchaus harmloser Vertreter. Kann man wirklich gut anhören.
