Oh my lord.... wow... what a spectacular, sweet, strong, filled with wonderful energy, heartfelt sentiment and passion, as he sings, with that voice of his. That is fresh, alive and raw fully charismatic and meaningful perfect. I could just feel everything he gave me.. touch me and made tears flow from my eyes. As I sat in a daze just listening to his wholesome, fully of true goods voice..Just sing.. I purred like a cat.. From start to end, Just checking this guy out. Very professional, smart, tight and decent, no thrills, but fantastically simple. Guy and his music.. I truly adored that..More.. More please real soon. phenomena

It's a shame that they're free. A Breathe of Tomorrow.

The thought that in fifteen years or so YouTube, MySpace, Jamendo and ReverbNation will release a plethora of middle-aged middle-aged losers, missed singer, missed jazzists, missed rockers, missed soloists, missed composers about to break the soul to the people with stories of when they were about to succeed, these days gives me the chills. Judging from the good start, that shall not Anthony Shepherd's nor James Pepper's destiny, that their duo split or stay together: in time, their performances will make you not only renew your subscription to the Internet but seek out throught the years their cds on the Net and, most of all, take note of the dates of their concerts. This ep has root in the British Rock-Blues of the Mid-Sixty - strong rotts and from such vital root cannot but grow an healthy plant whose flowering future is not at risk. The only way for JESPA to be forgotten is that they lose interest in their own music.

Folk with Heart and Soul

"orla" Good lyrics, sung very well over a soft, consistent acoustic backing. "what god meant" A basically strummed, very slow(1 beat) guitar backing with an equally slow(mono-tone in parts) almost spoken vocals. Extremely basic, but done quite well. "settle up (demo)" A strong controlled vocal entry followed by a moderate pace strummed acoustic guitar with a nice folk form. The vocals along with the plucked melody were superbly constructed. The acoustic solo also meshed well with the piece. "waiting at the station (demo)" A slowly strummed acoustic guitar carried a soft slow rhythm and was mainly the filler for some very well sung vocals. The music on this album was basic in style, but contained many flurries of beauty, particularly within the vocals. The lyrics are very well thought through and phrased with excellence. The voice and guitar were a great combination. The vocals were captivating and sounded heart-felt and contained much soul. More instruments might have helped, but to be honest they weren't necessary as the vocal/guitar combination and harmony was extremely good.
