If I may say, this feels more like a single from a band that has a few albums under their belt rather than a debut EP. That may just be my opinion, but I seriously think that a song like "Save Me" would have come from a second "holy shit this band is awesome" album that gets the band signed to EMI or something. I mean, the song is absolutely the kinda song that becomes a hit. It's got emotion(but not in that sappy, melodramatic way), it's got quality instrumentation, and it's got one bitchin' chorus. Now, "Ink" on the other hand, feels like a B-Side through and through. It's just kinda, well..........there. Yeah it's got a nice shoegaze vibe going for it, but it just doesn't have that My Bloody Valentine quality that really makes a good shoegaze track. No offense meant, it's not a bad song, but it's not a good one either. Also I think it comes off with the short end of the stick by having to come after "Save Me". "Save Me" really does feel like one of those starter tracks to a fucking brilliant album, while "Ink" is better suited to the middle of the album. There it would probably sound better, and impart more impact as a song. But that's just my opinion. So in short, great debut guys! Keep up the good work!
