The Swedish band The Search wraps catchy pop melodies into a gloomy cloak, creating escaping the daily grey routines. When the press is talking about The Search, they speak of a beautiful retro-mix of wave and rock in the vein of The Cure and Joy Division. The band does not deny their roots, but take pleasure in paraphrasing them in their own slightly deranged and atmospheric way.

In order to achieve a wider musical range on their 4th album 'Saturnine Songs' they hooked up two diferent producers. Kristofer Jönson from the band Jeniferever was hired to conjure up the melancholic, darker part of the album with songs like 'Yes-Man' and 'Swimmer' and Elof Loelv, producer and musician, was engaged to invoke the electronical parts in songs like 'Distant' and 'Other People', where he created a catchy, yet dreamy sound. The album is mastered at Studio Tonteknik by Magnus Lindberg, a well-known mastering engineer.

Man, only music to make me write stuff like this... imagine now, if I were deeply in love... don't!? Back to the album... it's strange the sensation, but it's somehow precisely that... I mean, you know... those appealing melodies we instantly associate with general terms like beautiful, enchanting or ravishing... it's not the case, not instantly, I mean... let's see if I can explain it in other way... Imagine you are walking through an avenue full of people... and you spot this beautiful yet somehow discreet woman with undefined look, coming your direction... and time kinda slows down... until she finally passes by you... and leaves an intriguing smile, that makes you stop for a while... and look back. That's what this album is... and you know what... I just found myself following her. Excellent cover art... a type I specially like.

You are just AMAZING!!! Your music, based on widely known material and techniques of the past 20 years, still has something in it that makes it unexpectedly fresh and memoralbe. Your songs are all catchy and light, simple and sencere, they just make me speechless...
