Not deviant, but unusual perhaps...

From the start, the idea of dancing just doesn't happen for me. Listening does and this is simply a form of creative expression. As it turns out I like this style of music and if there is a standard to be set, it has done so in its own right, like so many other artists, but this is in the Xtremist way. There's your classification, without referring to a book by Linnaeus. The first track is fairly typical of experimental, electronic minimalism. The structure is simple and straightforward, though there's a bit of a digital stagger at first. However, rather than be repetitive and go the distance that direction, if flourishes and develops in a progressive manner, i.e. the structure and content are diversified, which I think makes for interesting listening. The track title suits the music expressed. Nice piece of work. Forest of Iron works well too, I like the intonation and subtle variations within its different structure to the first track. It gets to the point in its development where it is almost minimal minimalism, hence Xtremist perhaps, but it shows a fine sense of control in the creative process. Instrumental music, like a picture can speak a thousand words. Thus has I devoted myself to the process of writing thousands of words in relation to the variety of music I have heard so far and hope to continue, even though it could all disappear tomorrow, never to be seen again. That's a lot of time and effort, potentially for very little, if not simply nothing. Life can be hard. Archipel starts quite strongly and assertively, then builds on that foundation with synthetic flourishes and twists and turns. Nice dynamism which I find likeable indeed. Moving Fast to the Meeting, makes me think again of my previous review of Turmoil. Despite the title, it moves relatively slowly as the seconds tick by, but meetings have that effect sometimes depending on their import. I usually find them dull if at work. Geronimo, 'he who yawns', is me in a business meeting. Any other kind in 3D life, I try to avoid these days, I've had enough trauma to last me a few lifetimes, I think. Nice EP.
