The sound is good, I like the dark atmosphere, but there is one problem I have with many, if not most electro... almost always one chord per song, if not, it's 2 chords... I do like repetitiveness, when it's done in an interesting way. Sometimes the songs tend towards variation, but only in the sounds, not in within the composition. It's like there is one theme, and different channels are switched on and off, but always using the same theme.
It sounds good, but I miss what I described above.
At the beginning of the first song my first impression was.. Ouch... sounds very 'midi'. But I kept listening... and kept listening. Now I must say, congrats. Now I'm thinking... wow, finally some music that gives me inspiration for the film music I still need to make :-).
It sounds really great, wonderful, enchanting voice, makes me think of a singer I used to work with, also the piano reminds me of the style.
I've heard quite some songs from beginners, and usually there is a lack of tone stability, but here, I hear no trace of it. She must be a professional, if not, she really should get a chance to make living out of singing :-D.
Also the arrangements are great, bringing the voice to the front layer, without disappearing, which happens way too often.
Continue the good work ;-).
The compositions are great indeed, but what I miss, is the feeling of real instruments. Writing music is one thing, performing it quite another one.
The sounds are good, but it still are soundmodules, or softsynths. In my opinion simulating real instruments is ok for writing music, but definatly not for the recording, or publication.
I agree with some of the positive comments about the arrangements, but I think the lyrics need some work as well, and I definitely don't agree with the quality of the mixing/recording. I have the impression everything is set too loud, too much compressor then followed limiters to prevent clipping, and the guitars sound as if they used the line out of the amp to record it, actually horrible, sorry. I'm having the impression the drums even do clip in some songs.
It's a nice voice though, the quiet parts are quite ok, but overall, I can't say it's a good record. I do am curious about how you sound live, probably a hell lot better.
Conclusion: work on lyrics, work on mixing and you'll get a good album.
Beautiful album, wonderful voice, great arrangements. It's a very good recording, mixing, mastering.. What more can I say? I really, really enjoyed this album. Keep up the good works!! I can't wait for the next song/album.
I agree it's smooth, and easy listening. For me even too easy and too smooth. There's no effort for the listener. I always search for that in music. The listener has to do an effort in my opinion, it keeps him/her focused on the music. That of course is personal taste. But I've noticed some issues with rythm. I don't know why or exactly where, but I do hear sometimes that there is a difficult part in the song.
