Ultravox, Motion Trio*, TLC, Underworld, Tony Iommi
As usual, I am writing this review while listening to the album. What can I say - this is even better than Me And Myself.
The album starts with a pulsating Sky Lights, and then moves to a featherlight title Friday I'm In Love; after those two tracks I was charged with lots of positive energy, but still didn't know what to expect next. And when that 'next' came I was in heaven, truly: Mintys Apie Tave, oh boy, I must say I wasn't prepared for this at all, I didn't know Bacila could be into melancholy, too. From the dreamland I was revived by Rainbow inside with its footstepping rhythm and pace. I looked at the number of tracks on the album and realised it was coming to and end - but no regrets, not a single weak link there, and Cannibal Cafe only reinforced that feeling. It reminded me a little of Grooverider's work (just a coincidence, or inspiration?). One Love, well, this was a little too much about the pulse for me, especially at the beginning, but maybe it's just my PC speakers' inability to reproduce the sound. Anyway the last track, with dreamy Arab-style vocals soothed my ears and head. I'm intrigued by the title, too, and will have to check with my translator colleague about it :).
In a word - wonderful. And thanks, Bacila, for sharing your work with us.
Unfortunately I couldn't follow Sebastian's suggestion to close my eyes (work, work, work), still the minialbum sounds astonishing.
Thanks for the anouncement, keep us all posted, and keep bringing us the good stuff.
I got such a kick out of listening to it - the weaving of down tempo and swift syncopation (especially in "Naktinis Vilnius" - my favourite) is impressive. Anxiously waiting for more.
I was a little apprehensive hearing the rap thing but it turned out to be as smooth as butter, the chorus vocal is enchanting, and I especially like the mixture of styles and ovarall lightness of this trully recommendable track. Keep on making your music - I will gladly listen more :)
I wish I had had more contact with the Russian language after school - that way I would be able to follow the lyrics better - but I will manage. And on the musical level - vibrant and positively tuned. Bring in some more, Yulia, pleazzzzzz.
Oh, by the way - I wonder about the picture that accompanies the song - what was the temperature out there?
...and I already know it is going to fill my room for a good few days non-stop.
The track sounds unmistakably like Adult Only, yet it introduces new elements which create a new quality to the listening experience. I do enjoy it, and the female voice, especially the sighs, was an impeccable move. Huge thanks, Oneak.
I particularly enjoy the Falling Stars - this certainly is one hell of an upbeat track, with a fantastic pace to it, and the unforgettable tune. Well done, indeed.
