Grace Slick, The Moody Blues, Scooter
Sad Robot is excellent. I wasn't at all sure I would like this album when I saw it but after several listens I find it just grows on me. I don't think you need to be an 8 bit synth fan or even know anything about them (I don't) to like the music.
Solid rock album.
Catchy lyrics even if, like me, you don't speak Spanish.
I especially liked 'el viejo plan'.
Even though Antarhes is no more the band members are all very young still so I suspect that there might be more to come even if not of quite the same kind.
I read Laëtitia's note on the end of Antarhes, sounds to me like she really enjoyed doing it so I think there is a fair chance she won't stop singing.
I think the sound is is pretty good for a fully synthesized work.
And anyway you can't get much more romantic than providing your very own wedding march so I think the audience would probably not notice the slight difference between synth and live instruments!
Albums like this prove that we don't need the big record companies. The sound quality is excellent, as are the voices and the playing.
A well balanced, attractive album.
Anyone who likes Celtic, Irish or English electric folk should find something to like in this all too small collection.
I have no idea what the songs are really about as I can only recognize a few words. Are the lyrics available? Even if I have to run them through the Babel Fish to get them in English it would be worth it.
