Four out of the six melodies that make up this album (HOPE), were composed last month, in September, while I was writing a journal about the famous writer and movie director Anthony Minghella, on Nicole Kidman's website. Though I have never met or spoken to Nicole, she has inspired me by sharing her memory of the times when she worked with Anthony in the movie "Cold Mountain". Nicole is a gifted actress but most of all she is a gifted artist.
Anthony died at the age of 54, back in 2008. He was one of my favorite celebrities. Today I am writing a book on his work. I dedicate this album to his memory. These six melodies are recorded quickly, in less than 3 hours, using my piano keyboard which is attached to a computer that simulates orchestral sounds such as strings and saxophones. I feel that spontaneous music is often better than overproduced music which tends to become artificial. I have recorded each instrument separately, and then mixed the whole thing in my home studio. I hope that you will enjoy listening to these melodies.
