33canales is an electronic music project from Minuit De Lacroix and Vate.

In 2002 Minuit de Lacroix lived in Tijuana and Vate in Mexico City.

They began to collaborate trough Internet in a remix exchange that resulted in the Motor EP.
Subsequently, at different times, they both change residence to the city of Barcelona.

Until mid-April 2007 they meet personally and return to the musical collaboration with the “33Canales” project.

33Canales reflects, through musical passages, the complexity of our chaotic social environment and eclectic culture of their native cities: Tijuana, Mexico, and now the contemporary Barcelona, as well as the influence of other cities.

33minutos combines live and studio sessions from 33Canales into a journey that explores various genres such as downtempo, electro and ambient.

The album starts with a gentle bass and treble pulse followed by a warm nu-jazz and drum n’ bass massage with a disturbing and low hypnotic drum. A practical listening advice: hear it with your eyes closed.

I like the downtempness of the works, unfortunately, Reflex Zion, Shake Spear and Barco Iris all had a simular sound, with just a slight change in instrument settings. It could have been one long song in movements...
You were correct, though, to say "Listen with your eyes closed" as it allows a different aural experience...
