Complex Acoustic Landscape
This is an interesting album that combines elements of post-rock and ambient sounds. Even though there is a consistent theme to the album the music is quite varied. The album title conveys the diversity of textures in the music.
This offering is almost two albums in one. The first 8 tracks are the opening act for the last track. For casual listening queue up the the first half of the album. When you have time for a serious listen sit down to the last track.
Poème de la forêt is the longest and most complex track on the album. It has a lot of ambient elements like dry leaves underfoot, snapping twigs and running water. It is also the most avant-garde track with the violin being used to great effect to create tension and mood.
Be prepared to be surprised at every turn. One moment you are peacefully meandering through the forest, the next moment you turn the corner and are met by a waterfall or surprised by a thunderstorm.
Highly recommended.
