On My Way blossoms quickly into the warm up of the track. Percussion already on the trot, the metallic element blends its way in slowly, to be joined by the bass melody. Then a little flourish of drum... nice new age ambience already! Emotion Picture I love the sound instantly, then the track builds itself up nicely. Lovely little bits of diversity within the structure. Dead Inside goes straight to the business end with a fantastic sound, good solid foundation. Then a ghostly synth comes into play with rasps of electro noise abounding. Inside is potentially as big and spacious outside, and I think we can go either way as people.
Toutes Lumières Eteintes is a wonderful, sometimes 'classic', experimental piece of instrumentality, I love it! Followed by Storm Riders, nice rhythm straight away, with layers adding to the melody slowly, and there it is. Bass right behind in full support. Consistently good track throughout. The Awakening starts very ambiently, with the voices of spirits and a symphonic build up of background track, slowly coming to equal the intro. Then layers of synth come into play, to variegate what has already been planted. Only wish my awakening was this good everyday!-)
Virtual Tears falling like angelic rain onto you, emphasised by piano chords. Then the tune picks up and winds its' way around the stout trunk of assured belief. Then, there it is, its' branches reaching high and wide, a beauty to behold. The end of a new beginning as autumn falls. Then, to Black Whispers, like a meeting of campanologists to start, with oriental overtones of deep flute. Then it suddenly blends it all into a rock framework, nice and simple. Very powerful in places. Mermaid Hunter starts with some cool sounds and is followed by flowing synth and rhythm on the side of a boat. The lure for the mermaid, the ultimate sin as the big synth kicks in. Like killing a unicorn!
Dementia is mental, straight away it's to the point and asserts itself wonderfully. Marcher dans la Rune, mellow rhythm steps in, followed by percussion and a nice slow melody. Drums and overlayers of synth abound. A nice subtle accompaniment drapes itself over the top, like chocolate sauce. Project12 begins strongly with piano, adding such orchestral sounds that do nothing but enhance the tracks' appeal. Dèmons, again a piano theme for the track, and it almost says that demons are with us for equilibrium.
