Ballad Of A Drunkard is a good track, it moves, it sings, it develops, quite the like most drunkards I know. The Great Electronic Swindle, starts off electronically and is soon into the swing of this great sounding track. Fine level of vocalisation, just right. Caminos, slow guitar strumming and nice melody over the top of it, Spanish-style. Prélude pour bidule intempérant was a lovely piece of chamber music. Then La Nuit d'octobre curls it's way into your aural channels and convinces you to like it. Linoleum-licker-rabid-Wombat is not what you expect it to be from the title, but it is a genuinely decent track, title aside, like a good jam session should be.
Interlude en forme de Fiszbajn, thrashing guitar, bass and beat, with bell percussion amd deep resonant sounds at the end. Chant d'Automne rustled like a pile of colourful leaves, with the wind of lyrics. Improvisation sur les grandes orgues de Schlosshundhoffen, begins with the fantastic sound of a sizeable organ. I am inherently biased towards classical organ works. Don't know the organ at Schlosshundhoffen? Then, La Victoria es nuestra comes in with filmsound and swirling synths. Joined by bursts of guitar and chanting it becomes a dance-style track. Very up-tempo and effective in that genre. More proof of an inherent talent.
Irrfahrt commences with a piano piece, the deep, resonant background is soon emphasised with this, an easy listening piece. Informatage is a nice pop instrumental track, with some tasty moves in it. Rêverie en forme de poire, again presents us with more exquisite organ music, very, very nice. Vogelfrei comes in as if the former was to set us up for this track, and there are echoes of the former as the bird flies free in this skyscape of music. Then, there is Vereinsamt, like the logically following interpretation of the Rêverie en forme de poire, this time joined by vocals.
Barroco forms a boundary with chimes and then a get-down funky number. Dû bist mîn starts with vocals and melody in the background, slowly building into an EBM structure and very classically done, to the hilt. Next, Le Rire de Léautaud, with its lovely sculpting of guitar based sound. A few vocals fade in and out, which is plenty for me! Good racey track, which then chills out towards the classy end. It's a new world out there!
Amer Picon, predominantly piano based short piece of music, that resides nicely in my ears and brain. Things can always be better, as the next piece is named Something Better, do I expect better things? I like the loose beginning and personally would have built more instrumentally around that rather than resort to vocals (I'm just anti-vocals, I don't know why) and that's exactly what the track turned into. Another of those lovely, wonderful little instrumental pieces that Talking Cure do so well. Even when it rocks it up, it is still amenable, I just prefer the silent tongue. Super Ego blasts into dance land and rocks everyone's socks off, but what will we end up with?
All-in-all, an interesting and undoubtedly varied array of musical pieces, some I obviously liked more than others, but what I think is important is the irrefutable statement that this is a talented artistry, which with a little more development will fuse beautifully well together. Keep up the good work!-)
