I was intrigued by the "jazzpunk" tag on the album. Great album! It is a very fresh and new sound. I'm quite sure I would have called it jazz punk myself. The classification doesn't seem to quite do the music justice. The jazz influence is quite clear. The music is played with a "punk attitude", but I feel it doesn't borrow too much from the genre musically speaking. One can hear a variety of influences including early progressive rock, Klezmer music, jazz, jam rock, reggae, fusion etc.
The point here is that Truculent did a wonderful job of putting together a plethora of music styles which at first may seem to contradict each other. The clarinet in this style of music is very fresh. These days its not very often one hears it outside of Orchestras and Dixieland bands.
I hope you guys put out a new album soon. What you've done so far is wonderful and I hope that you continue to push the envelope and create more great music.
