"du pure genie" is well over-the-top for Awesome. without being an asshole, it doesn't deserve that title - i could forgo actual reviewing here for a rant about those who mindlessly call every album they come across "genius", but instead i'll quantify:
it's not awful music. for what seems to be just two guys (who sometimes do, sometimes don't collaborate), and either a relatively well-used copy of eJay or an underused one of Cubase, it's not bad. but, the standard of the music is pretty centre-of-the-bell-curve; i've seen worse, and i've seen better, but mostly, i have seen a lot of techno just like it. there's no innovation.
still, it would make alright middle-of-the-night fodder in a club. you'd have to re-equalise it, though, because it's fairly flat; that's perhaps not the artist's fault, so it can be worked around, but it means Awesome lacks the 3D-immersive quality that pulls you into albums by, say, DJ Klass or QJon.
so - it's alright, but not awesome. please, people, stop the sycophantry - it's not doing the artists any good if you just tell them "WOW!!!!" all the time, and it's sure as hell not informative for anyone reading the reviews.
