This sounds completely professional, from recording to end mix. The acoustic guitar performance and accompaniment are equally impressive. This album is not only about the music, though, as the lyrics are thoughtful and expressed with sincerity and emotion. It's a joy to listen to.

I wasn't quite sure what to expect when I started streaming this puppy, but when it started playing I knew that it was a winner. The instrumentation, lyrics, recording/mixing and presentation was excellent. I am reminded of Lily Allen and other popular female singer/songwriters but this album offers something extra. Ruth is a wonderful storyteller so far untainted by the corporate music industry. Her work is quirky, but has a serious side to it as well. I could go on for ages, but I for now just download the album. It is worth the bandwidth and hard drive space.

This album starts out good and finishes great.
I'm very picky about the "slow" music i listen to, most of the music i listen to leans towards the metal side(which i am also very picky about lol).
This is just my opinion, but if i say get this album, at the very least you should check out.

Excellent album, surely one of the best in whole Jamendo. I cannot even believe that it's pubilshed here and you can download it for free. Extremely original in all tracks, well played and sung. Expressive voice, one of the best here on Jamendo (and not only here) and I'm a singer myself. I think that Ruth will be one of those that will achieve the jump into fame.

What a find! Reminds me of the music that seemed to be released on a regular basis in my youth (late '80's mid '90's). Guitar sounds top notch, whilst the production has let some of the timing issues through and the whole album sounds better and more natural for it. I'm very excited about this artist.

The guitar playing is what does it for me right off the start, the lyrics and the way they are presented was the icing on the cake. On top of that, you've got some fantastic support music. This album is definitely worth a curious listen.

The other day I realised that it's been years since I didn't fall in love with an album : you know, theses songs you can't help but listening over and over again for weeks and months, and listen again a couple month or years later, to the point where you become actually afraid to put the album in your mp3 player, fearing you won't be able to stop listening to it, ever.
"Worm Food" is that kind of album, and Ruth Theodore is that kind of artist. The guitar playing is brilliant, the lyrics profound, witty and fun, the voice (close to Bjorg sometimes)is a delight. I particularly love the simple guitar-voice songs, wich strip Ruth's talent down to its purest form. And talent, the lady has plenty.
Listen to her. Support her. She's deserves it.

This is wonderful music.

The musical arrangement is fantastic, and the words are very well-put, however, the vocals take the pleasure out of listening to it, being dry and irritating.
