Nice sound, nice rithm and musical immagination. Varied music styles and excellent music execution.
My advice to all people is: try it!

Good job ;)

I like fresh sounds. I like it if a music is not about love or self-referring (an example for this is rapper rapping about rap). Also, I like general weirdness. This album has a nice variety of sounds and it does not take itself all that serious. It presents different styles with a wink and a smile. It is not talking about music and it is funky with catchy tunes. My favorite tracks are Innishmoore and Mary-Mack (You gotta love the lyrics: Mary-Mack's mother making Mary Mack marry me, my mother's making me marry Mary-Mack).

You put all my favourite genres in four albums! I love all of the tracks. Well done! I like bass parts the most.

This work by the TenGooz displays a high standard of
intelligent lyrics and music that kees you moving.
As their homepage said,no matter what the subjet of their
song, they are grounded in groove.
The Chills is a song about loss with eerily groovy
trombone and guitar.
Innishmoore is a celtic romp with a funny travel story.
Mari mack funky rapping with more funny lyrics.
It goes on and on...
Some of the best new songs Ive heard from any band in a long time!

It's really not common to find such a varied album, even on Jamendo. I don't think I've ever heard such a collection of styles and genres on one small album! Almost everything is a long way out of my experience, but not comfort zone, and has introduced me to quite a few new styles which I'll be able to explore further from here. There is a real flow through the entire set of tracks which accentuates The TenGooz's bizarre and amazing style.

My personal favourite two tracks are probably Mary-Mack and Mio Mine, which are extremely funky, fun and catchy - I find myself singing them constantly! Having said that, the opening The Chills is also rather haunting and slick - It sounds like a spaced-out 'Back in '72' era Bob Seger. The rest of the album is difficult to place alongside another artist, as the styles are not ones I am really familiar with. Perhaps a more upbeat and happier Space.

The cover is also rather eyecatching and amusing, and seems to encapture the entire style of The TenGooz, both in its drole design and flowing, spacey colours.

According to The TenGooz's personal description of this album, this is intended to mimic the sound of the band live. If that's the case, then it'd be very good - I can certainly see these guys playing small jazz venues or open air festivals quite happily!

All in all, it's a remarkable album, but almost too varied to pin it down to the supreme refinement of an excellent style.

This is the kind of band which would have the marketing guy of a conventional record label tear our large tufts of his hair because a band like this has no market niche.

Bands are typecast (by labels and by consumers) for the fragmented music market (a classic being the 5-6-7-8s, the band in Kill Bill, doing squeaky-voiced girly punk 50s covers). On the other hand, The TenGooz are fairly eclectic pop/rock and seem to like it that way.

I say eclectic, but actually if I think about it, their pieces all pretty much have a characteristic feel to them - in particular I found voice and horn have the same kind of inflections. The changes in everything else keep it from getting boring.

There is nothing to actively dislike here if you like normal music. And you may find something you like in their works.
