Du Cosmic Slam au Space-kitch, émotion et sourire.

Des mélodies parfois simplistes, parfois riches, mais entêtantes.

Space-kitch :

Cette simplicité qui frôle la caricature dans « Les années » ou « J’ai trente ans » s'appuie sur des structures harmoniques, des « plans » qui appartiennent à beaucoup de chansons occidentales depuis les réalistes des années 1920. L’orchestration, toujours soignée, est space-kitch dans ces morceaux souvenirs.

Cosmic slam :

Des titres comme New-Days explorent des terres de rencontre entre une parole cosmique, slamée, et une musique hybride, machines et instruments. Comme la Drumm-station et la flûte traversière dans « Elastique », à la croisée des chemins et des heures, où en une chanson se rejoignent des espaces lointains et des moments – plus vraiment – inaccessibles.

Between Cosmic Slam and Space-kitsch, emotion and grinning.

Melodies are sometimes rich, sometimes quite simple, but sticky.

Space-kitsch :

This simplicity may come close to caricature in songs like « Les années » or « J’ai trente ans », deliberately relying on harmonic grids found in most pop songs since the early Twenties. The arrangements, of good quality, yield a kind of Space-kitsch style.

Cosmic slam:

Pieces like “New Days” explore territories where a cosmic speech and hybrid music meet each other. Synthesized sounds get along with real instruments, like the drum station and the flute in “Elastique”. That song at a space-time crossroads twirls remote places and moments (you’d think were) inaccessible.

Genre-melting pot of kitchy madness

really a surprising dynamic of rapping/spoken word with long weaving melodies as well as the odd chorus hook ....

the flute on elastique what a great flavour with those taiko drums!!! throughout ,very interesting &efective merge of midiesque sounds with audio vocals . most effective on "grand bancs" imo - having almost the energy and movement of a live performance acheiving a great unique sound, reminding me of some kind of national anthem !!

space-kitch describes it well in all in all ,.. space-kitch hip-hop, while others like Les Annees a bizarrely excellent mix of old fashioned pop harmonies , spoken word , and discotheque !! ... and panpipes ...
