Description

fr This text is not available in your chosen language, we are displaying it in its original language.

To say the very least, this album is interesting, although that's not always a good thing.

The opening track isn't the world's greatest opener, and leaves the listenenr wondering what to expect next.

However, as soon as vocals are heard on the title track "Kill the Young", it is clear that this album is likely to not be a waste of time, although the vocalist is not the greatest ever heard, to say the least.

Track three is what I like to call a "marmite" track, in being one that is goin to be either loved or hated. Personally, I thought it sounded like a French bulldog being strangled to a slightly repetitive backing track, with the odd "oi, oi!" thrown in for good measure.

Come the fourth track, the lead vocalist's voice begins to become a little tiresome. It is at this point that the urge to skip tracks is finally gien into, although I did go back and listen to the fourth and fifth again before setting my final rating.

Onto track six, which claims to feature another artist, presumably another vocalist, it is nar impossible to notice a change, other than in the increased power of the track. And with slightly awkward drumming, it is clear that this is not the best of tracks by any stretch of the imagination.

Track seven, "my eternal winter" opens with an overly long, uneventful and frankly borin intro, as if crying out that the album isn't going to get much better. However, suddenly, almost two minutes in, the song suddenly becomes a song, and not an intro any more. However, the song it has become is not fantastic by any stretch of the imagination.

Track eight begins by making the listener wonder if is the track, or a neighbour hearing the song and throwing plates at the wall as if to say "turn it off!" However, it is almost a minute into this track that we hear some extremely promising guitar riff. And although there are a few more similar moment, when you think "it's getting good!", it goes down again, to what has become the expected in this album.

Track ten is the next point of major interest, with an opening riff so catchy, that it easily feels worth listening to the previous nine distinctly average tracks before it. However, it drops off when the lead vocalist attempts some notes higher than his obvious capability, ruining the track, as they are slightly flat.

However, after this track, the album is all but dead, as there is nothing left worth commenting on, positive or negative.

The album cover I personally think is very good, although I can't help but wonder if it's something that tried to listen to the album, or something that had a plate thrown at it...
