Album description

JAM FACTORY.

My remerciements a Grant & Joan de "Outhouse Studio" a Calgary, Canada.

First and foremost "Jam Factory" isn't a band.

"Jam Factory" is simply three guys, who  ended up in a studio, had a jam and recorded it live as it happened.
It all came about as a result of talking to  Grant Howarth a recording engineer who owns and runs a recording studio here in Calgary (Canada) called "Outhouse Studios", who up until the day of the recording I had also never met. I simply phoned him up one day and said, "hey I play drums, I would like to record a live jam session in your studio, could you hook me up with some players, as I  don't know all that many musicians here in Calgary".
A short time later Grant contacted me to let me know that he had found two musicians whom he had worked with in the past,  Josh Simpson who played Guitar and Harmonica, and Brad Colbourne who played Bass.
The day of the recording was  the 16th Jan 2008, and after being  briefly introduced to Josh, I finished tweeking my kit, Josh  plugged in, Grant took some levels, pushed the button and off we went. A short time later Brad rolled up and also joined in the fun.
There were no plans, no pre-conceived ideas, nothing discussed just three guys who had never met before who ended up in a recording studio with an engineer. The end result was these three tracks (among others) that  have been offered here under the album title "Exhibit "A".
These three tracks were all recorded live and in one take,  as the music unfolded. There is nothing that has been  edited, or changed, nor have any attempts been made to try and make anything sound  better than what it really was.
In short this is as honest as it's gets mistakes and all.  It's all here just as the music moved and pushed the three of us in the direction that we spontaneously seemed to head towards.
It is our hope that as you listen to these  tracks in their entirety that  you will not only be pleasantly surprized by some of the magic musical moments, but that you will also discover the way in which each player  involved in this jam brought their own interpretation and feel to the table that helped to create what  at times were some very  interesting  musical statements.
As for what the future holds no-one really knows. Will there be more I hope so, much of what may happen in the future rests solely upon the response, and how it is that you the listening public will review this album and on the comments that we receive from this our first offering, that we have offered here hopefully for your listening enjoyment.
It is possible that I may try this again with a different set of musicians, but again I am still not sure what I will do in the future. As for me and who I am, my name is Nat, the drummer  who both organized, and played in this session, that turned out to be a fun day for all who were involved in bringing this jam to pass.
My heart felt thanks goes out to Grant and Joan from "Outhouse Studios" and to Josh and Brad for  their time that they freely gave in order to make it all happen. Also a special thanks goes to Jess my youngest daughter for the artwork that she contributed with all her heart that has been used for the cover.
Well that's it, nothing more to say, except that if you the listener enjoy some of the music offered in these tracks half as much as we enjoyed playing them, then we will consider our humble offering a success.
May you have ears to appreciate what we feel at times was some really good music while  at the same time having a heart to excuse some of the moments that we know  served to reveal  our limitations  here and there.
Thanks for listening, until next time, should there prove to be one.
N. for and on behalf of Jam Factory.

Listening to this i have come to the conclusion that jamming with these guys would be an honour. The overall preformance is great but what really sticks out is the drumming.. absolutely outstanding. A job well done!
