Funky, warm jazz . . perfect for heating up a cold winter's night . . . and that voice, in the first track, was pure golden honey that slipped down so smoothly . . . and sweetly . . . and just mesmerized me . . . putting an awesome spell on this jazz lover.
After that I was lost in the colorful kaleidoscope of hot jazz, funk, blues and soul . . . absolutely in love with the music and the vocals . .. although not understanding the meaning of the language, I still understood the heart of the music . . . and especially since my bones resonate to these vibes . . great riffs, voice, moods, playfulness, pure joy . . . each song with something new and exciting to share . . . and some pieces were so exciting my heart raced like horses . . . pitter patter . . . as it did with "Sur le Fil" . . . where I wished there were posted lyrics . . . the emotion was so palpable that I almost couldn't catch my breath with the fight or flight adrenaline rush . . . coursing through my veins during this piece . . . What was going on there?
The violin and guitar voices in "Le Blues du Fantôme (feat. l'Archiduchesse de Pomme de Reinette)" nearly brought me to tears to match the fine edge of the emotions from those instruments . . this one was so beautiful it stood out . . . lovely blues .. .. and the guitar riffs in "Je Suis Quoi ?" . . . to die for . . ..
Actually, I must confess, that I have no ability to pick a favorite . . . as each track played out in magnificence . . . all I could do was sit there with my foot tapping and my mouth open in awe . . . and saying to myself . . . "this is my favorite . . . no . . this is . . . " and I continued thus to the very end . . . where I stood up and cheered . . and now . . .
. . . I just want to know . .. . how the heck did I miss this album all these years ? and these guys . . . this is one stunning album!
