From what little I know of the influences, apart from Dead Can Dance, this album achieves all its professed aims, in terms of genre. However, it wasn't 'dark' enough and became 'easy listening'. I think some more adventurous experimentation would do Bass the world of good, otherwise there's the easier route and following others.
