Album description

This is a dark ambient requiem for a soul in the process of shattering. It draws thematically from Ingmar Bergman's similarly titled movie whose female protagonist suffers from schizophrenia. Sampled lines from the main character's monologues/dialogues with God are used as material in the track. There is similar choral material here that can be found in Doc & Lena's Cosmic Lullabies album but instead of serving as spacious meditative background it serves here a more intense and darker role together with processed saxophone sounds and a church organ.

Great effort. It sends me away to places melancholy and Dreamy. Then it puts me back down again, gently. I'd like to see more too.

WOW very impressive. The soundscape is splendid. I find it intruiging how one is able to create 'arrangements' like this. Dark, yet not frightning...warm, yet not embrassing. I feel stunned as a listener. As if I am an actual witness of a conversation with God. The concept is extremely well thought about ! If one has the ear to hear!

I've had this requim for breakfast! What a healthy meal I had!

Kind regards,
o0o

P.s. personaly I'ld love to see more songs on your albums.

Looking for dark?- here is dark, also ambient and a little disturbing . . . droning and very echoey sounds giving a lost feeling and creating an emotional and yet flat feeling. You are never quite connected to what is happening as if lost in the walls of an institution, wandering forlornly and never quite sure of what is going on because you have deliberately walled yourself in and cannot make connections with other human beings. You cannot look others in the eyes, and you barely notice their existence, you are aware of outside sounds to a vague degree, and sometimes you become very frightened and pull yourself in even further and further away from the others.

Excellent track, it really takes you the depth of disturbed human thoughts and show how dark a tortured soul can be.

It's all about ambiance.

I am constanly amazed by the quality of artists here on jamendo. Since joining and journeying through the realms of hidden talent here, I have not bothered with the radio and top 40 miasma that makes me want to scrub my ears with a wire scourer.I listen to nothing but jamendo artists now and if you have listened to more stuff from Doc, no doubt you will agree.

This single is pure genius. It can take you anywhere, particularly if you haven't read the notes. You can cry, feel psychotic, like you found God, or maybe that you are ready to leave this ephermeral life, and yet it can make you feel so alive. Dark, and at the same time, enlightening. Wonderful.

I really enjoyed this composition and feel I can assimilate its theme with ease and comfortably, it's music is suitable because at times such disturbances are very much like the noises and music heard in this single track, and to be honest this forum has a wonderful recuperative ability for people who genuinely suffer mental malady, and express themselves musically in a host of genres, some very personal, some more 'marketable', both for the creator and the listener there is a wonderful ability to find therapy, strange as that may seem to some people. Music like this track are evocative but in a specialist way, it's like trying to explain the anguish of a migraine to someone who has never had one themselves. I think the Doc understands. Thank you.

This is a truly beautiful piece of music!

I discovered and joined this site about half an hour ago, and I'm very glad I did, otherwise I wouldn't have heard this. And mate, I'm absolutely stunned by this. It's what I look for in music.

This piece is a reminder that the fear and loneliness that comes with being human - being alive - is also a beautiful thing.

It reminds you that you're part of something big and strange and frightening...and wonderful.

I love this music.

The kind ambient of drone music one doesn't hear too often. Seriously good stuff! Well done!
