just to clear up some confusion, these songs WERE written with vocals in mind...many reviews have said that it is too boring and monotonous to sit through, and i understand that, but i'm not jt bruce...i don't write stuff that isn't intended for a full band...i list my albums as instrumental because, technically, they ARE when they don't have any vocals...however, a fellow jamendo artist has offered up his talents and has started working on vocal tracks for these and other songs, so you may see a new version of this EP in the future...until then, keep in mind what these tracks were written for, and that they in no way reflect finished versions of songs

I've been listening to Sonorant for a while now. Probably about 2 years now, but I never did put up a review of their music... until now.

Obviously this is a instrumental Metal EP, but that's not it. It really does mix so many genres into it's sound. You have the Metal leads and chuck, the hardcore/ metalcore technical breakdowns and bridges, and the step variations of progressive rock... done with only one person (I think).

I believe this album sounds a lot like something if August Burns Red met Between the Buried and Me to make their own version of an 90esque metal band tribute, but that's just me.

All and all, from the sharp leads of Thumbing through Blank Pages to the thundering chords of Instar, and drum parts in every song that fit in ever so perfectly with the feel of the song, This EP... No, this artist/band, is something that should not be missed. Forget not having a singer. It works out all in it's own. The guitars sing for you instead.

Awesome work on this EP. The production sounds fantastic, especially the harmonized leads with the rhythm track laying down the chunk. I'm curious as to what you used to make it sound this good. Are you using a 7string or detuning your 6? I think I can hear the low B in there but I'm not positive without picking up my own guitar and figuring it out. Keep up the awesome work.

"Engulfed" is phenomenal, fabulous. It's full of emotion and weaves a hell of a tapestry-like ten waterfalls merging together and crashing down into a maelstrom.
Dude, this is as good as SOAD. You should take over Serj's spot and tour with them!
"Thumbing Through Blank Pages" is my favorite. That song is dying to tell a story with lyrics!
Please release a new version in the future.
You're a damn fine musician.

I don't even care if there are vocals. This music is amazing without anything else. But, if you have to put words to it, make sure the other guy doesn't mess it up.

Para nada comparto las críticas que insisten en tachar de monótono este álbum.

Este es un buen ejemplo de metal / rock instrumental bien grabado y ejecutado. Me recuerda a bandas como Trephine, por ejemplo, otro buen combo que practica música de estilo similar.

Reitero. Muy buen trabajo. Totalmente recomendable su descarga y escucha.
