Very impressive demo of what these guys can do. Everything is just great in this album and each following track gets only better and better. I just didn't follow those ambient elements in the first tracks.

This is how contemporary jazz should be; Chilled beats, exceptional musicianship and fresh ideas.

The level of the musicians on this album is nothing short of fantastic. These guys really know how to play! The drummer and bass player are perfectly locked into the groove and the pianist and guitarist add melody and improv skilfully and expressively.

I'm also impressed with how professionally the whole album's been produced. You sometimes expect here on Jamendo to find albums a little lacking in sound production and mixing but this is by no means the case here. As it should be in chilled jazz, the bass is brought forward in the recording, and the horns and piano are layered amazingly well.

Truly an amazing album!

Cool!!

Dear Fonetik, nice work. Just letting you know that I used a few of your songs in a surf video I made. It's a hobbyist project not for sale. Shown at local Florida venues. Send me your mailing address and eventually you will get a copy. Thanks again for great music.

What can I say? That's good stuff ! Simply the best album I have ever heard on Jamendo to be honest. Astonishing! Claris is my favourite. I always listen to it on my mp3 player whenever I can, in tranports, work, home..This song and this album are brilliant. This is definitely a genuine electro-Jazz album. If I'd have only one album to recommend on Jamendo, "Demo" (straight to the point) would be the one.

Keep up the good work guys, I just can't wait to hear your next stuff !

Maybe it's just me, or maybe it's just really hard to make good Jazz/Fusion. Or maybe this album consists entirely of miscellaneous noises that have been haphazardly assembled. The inconsistent beat really turns me off to this kind of music

This record should not be called ‘demo’ at all. Comparing it with other Jamendo albums (no offence ;-) its a decent full-length album. Fonetik is a very skillful jazz band, and it’s simply pleasure for ears to listen to such LP.
About the pieces… Dolorosa is a guitar and flute chill-out. Free gun, a crazy funky trip with amazing speech samples (an account with a free gun!). Poursuite – it’s too short to evolve into a serious piece, but still it sounds nice. Bigdaddy – an interesting ambient intro, and then a little bit to rock-drive for me, I would prefer it to be more electro jazz. Claris – it’s more jazzy, but I still lack some turntablist or sample craze.
Ok., I didn’t want to compare it to Revolution Void, but I will.;-) The band mentioned can mashup electro with jazz in such proportions that it’s almost a new electrojazz style. Fonetik is more straight jazz with some samples and ambient keyboards, so it’s not that ‘revolutional’ ;-), although it’s fun to listen to their music. It’s a good record, but not sensational, that’s why an eight and not ten his time. It’s only my humble opinion, of course, you must remember his.
Cover is nice, more electro than the music (ok. I’m getting boring ;-), and I would love to listen to them live as some lounge act.

regards,

galaktycznyzwiad.
