Album description

This album was originally released in 2003. We finally got around to releasing it on Jamendo in April 2008.

Here is the original description of our album written by a friend in 2003:

Wild spirited teenagers surprise themselves decades later with this CD of close harmonies, true stories and adventures reflecting their love for life and each other.

They've made old men cry, and young women laugh, and vice versa. Their music, while almost all acoustic, is diverse in styles, from instrumental to A cappella, from story songs and love ballads to quirky autobiographical tales. After 30 years of singing harmonies and writing songs together, Lindalou and Michael finally released their first collection of recordings including 5 songs by other favorite writers including Christopher Smith, Dave Carter and Loudon Wainwright III. Often requested when Lindalou and Michael perform are "The Endless Mile" by Julie Snow and "The Bramble And The Rose" by Barbara Keith, also on the album. But it's their original songs that tell their stories and open up their journals, should you care to take a listen.

Also playing on this album are Christopher Smith on mandolin and banjo, Terry Ann Gillette on fiddle and violin, Doug Harman on cello, Jimmy Bunch on dobro and Darryl Webb plays drums, bass and electric guitar on one track.

Songs co-written by Lindalou and Michael Ryge, except track 3 by Dave Carter, track 4 by Barbara Keith, track 8 by Julie Snow, track 10 by Christopher Smith and track 12 by Loudon Wainwright III. Only tracks written by Lindalou and Michael and Christopher Smith are available on Jamendo due to copyright. The other tracks are available along with the full album, for sale, or listening to clips on our CD Baby page.

We hope you'll check it out and consider buying the album! Thanks for supporting independent musicians!

Here is the track list from the original album:

Thanks again for listening! Enjoy!

leafy meadows, golden grass stalks, summer breeze
ocean waves, crisp seaweed, sand in tea

I can play some chords in an acoustic guitar, but just the sufficient to know that it don't just takes that to be able to compose music. It takes something more, some call it inspiration. So where do we get inspiration... sometimes in the less expected places and notions but, generally speaking, LOVE with its good and bad moments has often proven to be the greatest inspiration of all.
And the reason why I'm whispering these thoughts is simply because I sense there's a whole lotta love here. Overflowing... through the apparent simplicity of the music.

And it already got me...

Oh, and the cover art.. delicious!

This music makes you want to tap you're feet to the music. The flute playing was old country. I liked this album alot.

I clicked on this album expecting to find gentle flue music acoustic style. Then suddenly, harmonious voices erupted into a sing-song story to accompany the music. It was not bad, and actually the carefree lyrics were entertaining to listen to. However I don't find it to be anything extraordinary... just the average talented singer telling their tale in a musical way.

What a lovely album, to listen to, and sing along to, around a campfire, with your mates, as you share a drink, and enjoy each others company. Very cheery, cute, country, catchy tracks.

Makes you want to smile and sing along. Or even if feeling, a bit down, within Ones self, listen to this in your room alone, in the dark, and feel your mood lift with the music and the words.
