Quite astonishing (and I don’t say about the perfect cover! ;-). HiFi Hustlers created nice blend of Ninja Tune, Bomb The Bass and a modern dub style. They don’t lose a beat pulse for a second here, while the production is quite classy. Ok, about the tunes:
- power_version – very nice dub production with phunky rhythm section and interesting Jamaican vocal sample leitmotif.
- freedom – another tune created around speech sample. This time, the beat is more electro-sleazy, but still head and legs moving.
- thirteen – the most dub-like on the record. Lazy beats and keyboard sample reminding of early Ninja Tune chillouts with a solid reverb flavour.
- waves – my favourite on the record. Catchy, melodic piece with an ambient touch. Another great recording to my CC collection.
Generally, it is one of the coolest things I’ve managed to listen on jamendo. Hope to hear more from guys.
stay cool,
galaktycznyzwiad.
I'm in love with these self described "Two hobos with their old bontempi organ." And thanks to "509" for recommending this album.
Wonderful bass beat in "Power Version" - love the dynamics of this song. I had to move.
HiFi Hustlers made me dance!
I love, love, love "Freedom", its percussion beat and the vocal - so intense, emotional, so true - "...sing about...when they die - they wouldn't be slaves no more!"
"Thirteen" is my other favorite - still moving to the beat, can't stop.
"Waves" - more super tempo - This is music I can't chillout to, that's for sure.
Excellent album - need to check out the rest of their music on Jamendo.
a really cool album, to chill out a bit and to relax!
just simple and of good taste.
the bass part of the first song is very good.
we want more songs!
this was a class find thankyou very much. I was looking in another direction for something and this ep was it! very cool, mixtures of groove armada but making it your own.super funky slow beat of thirteen just slips through your mind, nice one guys.
Well lets just say that whoever I play this for starts groovin...I try to introduce as many as I can to Jamendo...Just for this Album right here is one of the reasons why...Couldn't live with myself If I didn't share the quality stuff on jamendo
Superbly expressed musical styles done with great flare and class, done to excellent sounding, funk, dance, electronic, reggae, soul and disco music, with that added touches of voice samples to the pot,at that right times, giving it that little bit more of an edge to the over all satisfying appeal to this wonderfully, diverse, skilfully, cool, funky, chill out, very talented musicians and great over all sounding album. That has depth, soul, heart and class..
already agreed to galaktycznyzwiad's review.
In general me and my office chair conjoined, "power_version" inevitably tears myself away from it and makes me wanna shake my ahahass.
The cover is as catchy as the track "power_version".
Therefor 5 Stars. Without this bomb still 4 1/2.
Thanks a lot!

Their "Album description" is such an understatement!
There's not only a "Free zip download @ hifihustlers.com"
Many folks do like the cover art, already appealing at a 420x420 resolution.
You may find it there with a 2000x2000 resolution.
And holy shit! The details that show up then, literally make it big.
"artwork lovingly created by RandyPan" You can say that again.
"Just a couple of hobos with an old bontempi organ :) " LMAO!
At their sites can be found real professional music and art work with heart and soul.
Stuart Robertson with agreeable voice revealing well tempered piano driven lyrical songs
and Randypan's art work ...
Both sites well worth being inspected!
"Thanks for checking us out, tell your mates!"
Sincere thanks in return!
