I couldn't believe I have missed this Fortadelis album . . . I must have been saving it for a sweet time later . . . so here it is . . . beautiful . . . lush jazz . .. gives me a lift as bright and light as a sun beam . . . ah yes and a smile on my face. Each funky jazzy piece lighting me up brighter than the last one. This is happy making music, quirky, and with great walking bass lines, vocals, extraordinary keyboarding, drums . . . the whole kit . . .
"Rain of Clouds" with a powerful hitting intro and the deep ominous music to follow made me think of the dark rainy days of Winter. This song was less light and bright with its slower tempo and remarkable rainy day emotions, but it also brought in some of the lighter brass to twinkle hopefully like sun rays slanting through an embracing cloud.
This is excellent stuff to listen to as you sit and chat quietly with your lover, "After Hours" (with that dancing piano) will get you in the mood to relax and enjoy a warm embrace . . . or close your eyes and walk through your day again, "Sidewalk" with a happy stroll . . . dream about your tomorrows and that sunny day just around the corner, with that exquisite "South Breeze," melodic and harmonious to the nth degree, riding the waves with the most beautiful piano ever and companionable guitar . . . OH I could listen to that one forever . . . must be from Heaven!
Music falls like raindrops from the fingers of Fortadelis . . . I think he must be a genius to be able to compose such a profoundly beautiful album . . each song a new painting with its own unique display of vibrant colors and images that cannot be denied. . .
