Although this album is three years old, it's still intriguing and definitely worth checking out. It opens with the 16 (!) minute long track, Gender Hacking. If you love progressive rock, you can tell from the onset that this one will be a real treat. You don't get any vocals until about the 5 minute mark and leading up to that is a beautiful mix of bass, synth, guitars and moody beats. Vocal work is similar to Maynard James Keenan which already wins props in my book. Even though this one is a bit long, it definitely sets the stage really well for the entire album.
Other songs that are worth checking out include La Puerta, which mixes a lovely Latin vibe to the cut. It's also sung in Spanish, which adds to the psychedelic rock feel of the song. Meanwhile, Pi, is also another awesome cut. It runs for about 11 minutes and true to form for Nude; the song mixes instrumentals with subdued vocal work.
Although there's a danger from the group sounding as if they are trying too hard to achieve a Tool or Muse-like sound; there are several tracks in the record that will certainly make true blue "progists" smile.

it's bit of tool, bit of muze, but in the end it's original sound with original voice... simply great missing piece of music :)
Oh I've put Nude on my favo list for qute long ago. I don't know why I didn't leave any comment on it so here is little reapir work.
Vocals : I like vocal's a la Nick Cave and not Radiohead style but as I like Radiohed's best I like NUde's vocal interpretation here. It goes well with music, particulary guitar lines.
Whole concept, mix and experimentatin is brave thing since one never knows if result would be just another pretentious masturbation. In Nude's case I have not that feeling. Trak are sometimes too long but it's because band need that space to get to logic end and not just for epics sake.
Good work guys. Thanks for sharing. I like cover art mucho too!
OK, you say: experimental alternative postrock noise. Why do you expect that I will like this kind of noise? I mean, be at least picky by choosing people who will write a review for you... Sorry.
Got this on my Zune so any other Zune users close by have access to your tunes via wireless! *Very* popular when I was in Seattle!
Well, I was searching artists by tags and found that... Awesome!!! Love it =) Nice sound ;-)
Half way into the 16:50 minutes long opening track Gender Hacking I´m really excited. The Tool influences are obvious but that´s OK - after all, Tool only releases a new album every 5 years or so, and we need something in the meantime, right?
However, after a few songs I feel like Nude has reached a bit too far in their ambition to create something of epical proportions. The material is just not original enough to uphold an entire album, and if songs are going to be +10 minutes it´s important that the track is strong enough to defend that kind of length.
Also, on some tracks the drums are a bit off. It´s a bit risky to do progressive rock a la Tool if you haven´t quite got the skills.
That said, Love is a really ambitious try and is definitely worth listening through for anyone into alternative/progressive rock. It´s also the kind of band who´s music I think would come to it´s right in concert, so Nude, if you ever play in Stockholm, give us a heads up!
This is an all around excellent album, and probably the most professional-sounding album I've ever downloaded from Jamendo. It flat out rocks and never disappoints from beginning to end. Keep it up guys. You'll go far.
