For the genres this album manages to incorporate, the track length are ambitious enough. When it works, as with anything, it's great stuff. The moments come and go for me but I am at a disadvantage and time heals all wounds. The ambient nature of it actually figures out quite nicely and it's electronically exquisite in places. Quite good mood food and I'm still on the first track.
However, having reviewed a few albums now, there is sometimes a thin line between ambient music and straightforward (but protracted) minimalism, and that can still come over as quite complex and entertaining, so it's a shame to rely on time and the listeners imaginative mythology to be brought into play to pretty things up. I like my houses built of bricks and mortar, not just bricks in a pile and a hoping for the best. Overall, for me, it ebbs and flows and certainly stretches the limitations any bounded representation could. Definitely nice when it pulls together. Nice first!-)
